We are an evangelical/charismatic church aiming to obey the command of Jesus to go into all the world, and preach the gospel. FARMHILL BAPTIST CHURCH is a small but active community, located in Stroud, South Gloucestershire. Under the ministry of the Revd Jim Baker we are seeking to grow from our existing membership of 14. We meet on Sunday mornings at 10.30 for worship, blending traditional hymns with the best of contemporary music, for ministry and for a time of fellowship. We are wide open to the leading of the Holy Spirit. . The weekly congregation numbers 20-25 with ages typically ranging from 5 to the late seventies. We run a Sunday School and can provide creche facilities for young children. We also meet as cell church on Wednesday evenings in homes for teaching and encouragement. We are fully supportive of local ‘Churches Together in Stroud’ activities. There are 9 Baptist churches in the area, the largest being John Street in the town centre. Farmhill was a mission/church plant of the larger Stroud Baptist Church, John Street in the Town. The PRESENT BUILDING was erected in 1964. It is surrounded by a mix of private and council housing. Primary, comprehensive and grammar schools are close by, and local Christians share morning assemblies. We are glad to share in witness to the Lord Jesus Christ with other Christians, and play an active part in CHURCHES TOGETHER IN STROUD. OUR VISION is to welcome new families to the church, so that we can grow our children and young people's work on this estate.
