Our small church is in a very rural location, set in a village of 20 houses. There has been a place of worship here for about a hundred years. It started in a railway carriage, which was replaced by a wood & galvanised iron building & then subsequently by the present building in 1966. In November 2000 we were granted Planning Permission for a large extension to our current buildings. Most of the work is being done by our members & we very much look forward to the extra space & facilities this building will offer us. Started by the Methodists, it was handed over to the local Baptists at the beginning of the 20th century & remains part of the Baptist Union of Great Britain. Having said that, we are not overtly denominational and consider ourselves free evangelical, working with other denominations in the Cheddar Valley. We choose to have a team leadership of elders working together with the members of the Church, creating a family atmosphere & utilising the gifts within the Church.
