Job Opportunity: Facilitator for Re:source Bristol
This new role focuses on further developing the ministry of Resource as it begins its second phase. New challenges and opportunities for urban mission and interaction are the arena in which this work will take place. It will include some evening and weekend work and some participation in Sunday services.

The facilitator will join others in playing a central role in developing and implementing missional strategies in urban churches. As the role will entail some ministerial duties applicants should be an accredited BUGB minister.

The appointed person will need to be keenly aware of the difficulties faced by small urban churches and able to initiate and bring vision for ministry in such areas. The facilitator will need to rely upon excellent personal skills because every aspect of this role involves working with people who frequently need to be persuaded to try something new!

Remuneration will be pro-rata to basic Home mission stipend and a small housing allowance may be paid. We hope to be able to ensure funding for 3 years from September 2009, but a review will need to take place during 2010 to assess future viability as well as to review the post.

Applications
To apply please send a CV and a short written statement (not longer that one side of A4) saying what you would bring to the job. Closing date for applications is 29th May with interviews being held on 9th June at the WEBA office.
Applications or requests for further information should be sent to:
The Administration Manager, West of England Baptist Association, The Old Forge, Broom Hill, Bristol, BS16 1DN or email: Geoff Starling at the WEBA office.

Job opportunity: Child Contact Centre Co-ordinator
The South Bristol Child Contact Centre is looking for a committed Christian to be its new coordinator. The work is based at South Bristol Christian Centre, off West St, Bedminster. Each Saturday afternoon parents (usually fathers) meet with their children (brought, usually, by mothers) spending up to 2 hours together. Courts have stipulated that this must be under low-key supervision and solicitors then refer such families to the Centre. Four volunteers man the Centre each Saturday.

The coordinator oversees the work (but does not need to attend on Saturdays) in terms of planning volunteer rotas, taking referrals from solicitors, dealing with information and documents from the National Association of Child Contact Centres, and other administrative tasks. This is presently undertaken on Tuesday and Friday mornings and is about 4 or 5 hours work in total. An honorarium of ?1000 per annum is paid. The work is a vital community oriented task and a low-key Christian witness. A group of trustees and a small management committee are supportive of the work and the Co-coordinator is accountable to them.
